With a rich historical background and culture, Ecuador offers a huge variety of attractions for all types of tourists. Following are just a few of the country’s top attractions:

Cotopaxi: the second-highest mountain in Ecuador, Cotopaxi is an active volcano. Featuring a majestic snow-covered peak, the mountain is home to one of the world’s few equatorial glaciers and is a perfect day trip for tourists staying in nearby Quito.

Catedral Nueva: located in Cuenca, the Catedral Nueva’s marble and alabaster façade is one of the most recognized landmarks in the city. The church dates back to the late 1800s and features three huge domes, all of which are decorated with blue Czechoslovakian tile.

Otavalo Market: a great place for enjoying the handiwork of some of Ecuador’s local artisans, the Otavalo Market sells locals crafts, arts, and clothing every Saturday. Many of the one-of-a-kind pieces are created by the small town’s indigenous people.
